There was a costume contest and we didn't have costumes since I didn't know I was attending this party until yesterday. So, I only had the baby onesie (used after she was spayed so she wouldn't lick her surgery area) I put on Scarlett which did not get much attention to other costumes: mr T (with mohak and bling), dragon and knight, tin man, scarecrow and lion to name a few. Here are some pics of them. To the right is Maggie, an English sheepish dog dressed as a Hawaiian girl complete with a coconut bra. She won best single costume. Bottom left is the dragon and knight (hand made by their owner). The bottom right is the organizer's dogs who had a friend make the costumes. They won group costume.![]() |

Then we played games. Some dogs were paired up: 1 beginner and 1 advanced. Since I had 2 dogs, they were paired together but neither dog is advanced. O well. First, there were 6 stations of different kind of puzzles and the last station is bobbing for a hot dog. My dogs failed that one since they don't like to get wet. Then, we played musical chairs, sit stays, musical downs, etc... We did win one competition and that is the recall. Heat 1, Scarlett won against another dog. Heat 2, Kunu won against another dog and so Heat 3 was Kunu vs Scarlett. This was to have the dog 10 feet away and see who would run the fastest back to the owner. Kunu is such a mama's boy that it was easy for him to win this one. LOL And Scarlett is always keeping an eye on me and staying close to me that she also had no problems winning, hehehe I can't remember which of the 2 won the 3rd heat. Above is a pic of the recall game (heat 2) that Kunu won.
These next 2 pics is them at the first puzzle station. Those are wobbly things with treats in it. They have to figure out to work it. Kunu did good at all the puzzles but Scarlett only figured out 2 of them.
Here is another puzzle where the dog has to push the lever and it will dispense the treats inside. Of course, it was ok for us to show them how it works first. Kunu got it and this is such a cute pic of him.
Here is the first musical chair game we played. I played it with Scarlett. We started out with 5 dogs. You walk around the cones and when they say stop, you stop walking and the dog has to sit. The last one to sit has to go out and you continue to play until there is only one dog left.

Below, we are playing the musical down. You walk around and when they call stop, you have to run to a carpet and down your dog. The last dog to down is out and you play until there is one left and that is the winner. As you can see, we didn't do too well on this one as we were the last dog to go down and we just got started. Scarlett did much better in her round of musical chairs and we lasted until the last 3.
Here are some fun videos of the day.
Here's one of the puzzles, a plastic toy with a top that spins to reveal small grooves where you can hide food/treats. Here Kunu's video and I had one of Scarlett too but it didn't upload to youtube, not sure why. Here's another kind of puzzle.
Here's Kunu trying to bob for hot dogs. Later, someone decided to put the hotdogs in a smaller tub and here's how Kunu decided to get the hot dogs. Smart boy.
David (the organizer of the group and activities) also baked dog treats the night before so each dog got a treat bag and there was another tray of these cute little treats he made.
We also did 2 walks: 1 short one before the fun started and then we also did a long walk after all the fun and games. Scarlett was tired. During the games, she already just went into the crate and laid down. Then during the long walk at the end, at one point, she just stopped and sat down. I had to carry her for a while. She fell asleep right away in the car going home; she looked so cute sleeping. Also, later at home, I caught her once sitting down with her eyes half closed before she laid down to rest. LOL
